Resilience to climate change relies on the ability of people, communities, and ecosystems to adapt and recover from extreme weather. Agroecological agriculture is an alternative to enhance resilience in Andean food production. This project aims to analyze agroecological practices in family and peasant farms between 2700-3200 meters above sea level. It will study 8 farms selected from 28 across 3 provinces, meeting basic criteria. A mixed-method approach will be used, starting with a review of 106 articles on agroecology and resilience, followed by primary data collection through interviews, workshops, and soil sampling. The results will inform decision-making and policies promoting agroecological practices for climate adaptation in family and peasant agriculture. This study identifies crops that enhance food security and contribute to adaptive capacities for future climate events, potentially leading to new interventions in agrifood systems.
